Magnetic Me
BRANDING | USER JOURNEY | PROJECT MANAGEMENT | E-COMMERCE CAMPAIGN STRATEGY & DESIGN | ART DIRECTION
As lead graphic designer for Magnetic Me, I managed and worked on a wide range of projects. I spearheaded a re-brand to embody the fun, vibrant energy of Magnetic Me while still maintaining a high-quality feel. I have also headed initiatives to develop user journeys from the moment customers see Magnetic Me for the first time, to product at their doorstep.
re-brand
The first time I saw Magnetic Me, I was greeted with adorable, magnetic-fastening baby clothing with a harsh, sterile brand. The red and black text skewed masculine and didn’t reflect the fun, vibrant energy of Magnetic Me.
I was tasked with re-imagining the brand. My prompt from leadership: “think Kate Spade meets Paul Smith, meets baby clothes.”
I created brand guidelines for our in-house team, as well as third-party contractors. This guide includes instructions on proper use of brand colors, type, graphic elements, asset creation, illustrative icons, and photography/videography guidelines.
Journey Overhaul
One of my jobs at Magnetic Me was to examine how we talk to our customer. When you choose to shop with a brand, the journey you take can make or break the purchase.
One of the first initiatives was streamlining all digital deliverables for e-commerce so they are consistent and show what Magnetic Me has to offer.
The second initiative was the website journey. The goal was to immediately give the user an idea of what Magnetic Me has to offer and tell them why they should choose the product.
Adding motion to Magnetic Me’s digital branding was an important portion of the rebrand. After conduction A/B testing through campaigns, we found that digital assets that feature motion had more clicks and conversion.
